<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> I am asking this question on behalf of a member of our local support group. She has a daughter that was diagnosed with CD at 15 months of age. The daughter is now 6 years old and has been on a very strict GF diet all that time. Last May she had an elevated IgG antibody reading of 55. Six months later she was checked again, and the reading was 104, nearly double. The mother believes the diet is strictly GF, and that the daughter has not been cheating on the diet when her parents were unaware. The question is, could some non-celiac type of problem be causing the elevated reading, or should they look even closer at the diet and try to discover if somehow they are mistaken about the GF status of the foods they feed her? If you have any insights or ideas about this problem, please send them to privately; I'll summarize them for the list if they seem of general interest. -- -- Jim Lyles ...................
