<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Hello Everyone, I have an 8 year old son, Christopher, that was diagnosed at 15 months, so I am certaintly not new to the problems of a GF diet. For the past 2 years I have been purchasing bread mix from a family owned company in Brooklyn, NY. (One of the owners is a celiac.) They sell 2 types of bread mix: Multi-Allergy Bread & Baking Mix : labled gluten free, yeast free, egg free, and lactose free Gluten Free Bread & Baking Mix: labled as a "great flour alternative" I have purchased both of these mixes, and find that they work quite well in a bread machine, with the only draw back being that they must be "watched" while needing. My son loves the "Gluten Free", but has never cared much for the "Multi_Allergy" bread. I must warn though, there is one ingredient that is bothersome: "gluten-free wheat starch". I have never been able to get a straight answer from anyone as to whether this ingredient is dangerous, but I observe my son carefully, and have never seen any signs that this bread has an adverse affect on him. And it has certaintly made my life much easier. In addition to bread mixes, he carries a variety of other products. His chocolate cake (though expensive), was a blessing for a child who had never eaten cake! Thank's so much to everyone on this list, you all have been a tremendous help to me! Deborah Dillow [log in to unmask]
