I can appreciate that, out of our deep concern for the well-being of our community, we are each eager to share with one another information we come across on the internet regarding COVID-19. However, it is also vitally important that we not unintentionally disseminate erroneous information that could put lives in danger.

As with other types of phishing, it would be prudent to hold in doubt any information about COVID-19 that makes attributions to "experts in Taiwan" and similar unverifiable sources.

You may want to only obtain guidance about COVID-19 from reliable sources such as the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) or Public Health Madison & Dane County.
