As you know, Leslie Orrantia has been appointed a Deputy Mayor under Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway and will be departing her position as UW-Madison’s Director of Community Relations in the coming days. Leslie has been an outstanding representative of our campus and we wish her well in her new role.

As in the past, the Director will be a primary point of contact with local community and non-profit organizations and will be responsible for developing strategies to ensure the university is engaged with these organizations and the broader community in substantive and meaningful ways. The Director will also be the primary campus point of contact with the City of Madison Mayor's Office, Madison Common Council, the Dane County Executive's Office, Dane County Board of Supervisors and other local government leaders and legislative bodies.  Finally, this position will oversee the South Madison Partnership Office.
