Le journaliste, contacté par RSF, explique avoir compris qu’il était délibérément visé quand des balles ont traversé son salon. Quelques jours auparavant, il avait reçu des menaces de mort <http://www.newsdeguinee.com/2018/02/01/guinee-journaliste-menace-de-mort-inconnus/>. *Abdoul Latif Diallo* n’a pas pu identifier les auteurs de l’attaque, ni des menaces, mais il les estime liées aux sujets sensibles sur lequel il a récemment travaillé. Dans un de ses articles, le journaliste avait notamment révélé l’implication de hauts responsables de la gendarmerie nationale dans l’assassinat de la directrice nationale du trésor public en novembre 2012. L’un d’entre-eux, le général Ibrahima Baldé, avait cherché à le joindre pour «négocier » avec lui mais il s’y était refusé. « *Toute forme d’intimidation et de menace visant à empêcher un journaliste de faire son travail est totalement inadmissible,* dénonce Reporters sans frontières. *Les autorités guinéennes doivent lancer au plus vite une enquête pour faire la lumière sur cette attaque et les menaces de mort qui ont été proférées. Il en est de leur responsabilité de garantir la sécurité des journalistes qui doivent pouvoir mener des enquêtes en toute liberté sans subir aucune pression.* » *Abdoul Latif Diallo *a porté plainte contre X mais n’a reçu, à ce jour, aucune réaction de la part des autorités et du Haut Conseil de la Communication. Around ten shots were fired <http://www.africaguinee.com/articles/2018/02/01/le-journaliste-latif-diallo-raconte-une-balle-traverse-ma-fenetre> at Diallo’s home in a northern suburb of Conakry on the night of 31 January. Diallo told RSF that he had received death threats <http://www.newsdeguinee.com/2018/02/01/guinee-journaliste-menace-de-mort-inconnus/> a few days before the attack and that he thought he was the target of the shots, which went through his living room. He said he was not able to identify those responsible for the shooting or the threats, but he thought they were linked to sensitive stories he recently covered. One of his recent articles was about the alleged involvement of senior members of the national gendarmerie in the murder of the head the treasury department in November 2012. One of these senior officers, Gen. Ibrahima Baldé, tried to contact Diallo in order to “negotiate,” but Diallo refused. “Any form of intimidation or threat designed to prevent journalists from doing their job is completely unacceptable,” RSF said. “The Guinean authorities much launch an investigation without delay in order to shed light on this attack and on the death threats. They have a duty to guarantee the safety of journalists, who must be able to do investigative reporting with complete freedom and without being subjected to any pressure.” Diallo filed a complaint against persons unknown but so far there has been no reaction from the police and judicial authorities or from the High Council for Communication.
