First a WARNING. Today I made the mistake of updating my Windows 10 to the
"new" Windows 10. In the "upgrade" it deleted many of my programs without
asking. It did report that it deleted CCleaner and another program because
they were "not compatible" - but it also deleted some of the programs that I
wrote myself and run just fine under win 10.

I had regularly run backups of my system disk using Windows 10 system backup
so I expected that I could restore the missing programs. However, this is
the first time I tried doing such a restore. To my surprise, Windows can't
find any of the backups although they are there my backup drive. Although I
am computer competent, I could use some help here. Any info on steps to
recover individual files from a Win 10 system backup would be helpful - can
this be done? If not, then I am also looking for a backup solution to
replace the one that comes with Win 10.

Thank you for any help.
