Steve: I played in the contest last night for about 2 and a half hours, and put 85 qsos in the log. Like you, I found conditions to be not as good as they were last year. Worked from New England to Georgia, and out as far west as Kansas. Also worked Mississippi twice, and North Texas once to start covering the Gulf Coast region, but that was about it. And, worked the nearby Canadian provinces too. Did a search and pounce operation. Tonight, I may have some time again, and if so, will try C Q ing to see how much I can raise my contact totals. Will keep you and everyone posted. Have something going on at church both tonight and last night, so my time is limited. In the time I was on, I didn't find the band to be so great. I've got128 in the log, with 42 sections and 2 DX. Mostly from Virginia through New England and through the upper mid-west. Did work AZ and WWA sections, but nowhere near the far west and deep south activity I've seen in other years. Worked the only 2 DX I heard, which was VP9 and XE. I'll try again later tonight and Sunday morning if I roll out of bed early enough. 73, Steve KW3A
