Talk about an antenna farm... 73 Colin, V A6BKX -----Original Message----- From: Alan R. He always dreamed of having a spectacular station, and since he sold his business and retired, was in a position to realize his dream. Toward that end, he purchased a farm in north west Florida, about 30 miles north of Pensacola. About a year and a half ago, Stan and I began designing and equipping his dream station. We worked literally every day on the project, and by July of this year, we had purchased all of the hardware. When I use the term "we", I mean that Stan had purchased everything that was necessary to put up the station that he and I designed. With all of the hardware purchased and staged at his farm, Stan and his wife moved from Hawaii to the Florida farm. Construction has already begun, and by November of this year we expect to have the first 5 towers up and running. Eventually the plan calls for a total of 12 towers, including 3 200 foot rotating towers, plus 4 squares and various receive arrays for 80 meters and 160 meters. The station will have multiple stacks on every band 160 thru 6 meters. It will be one of the largest stations in the U.S. I won't state the precise cost of the station, but the hardware alone has cost several hundred grand. Alan - N7MIT Alan R.
