Are we there yet? GPS technology makes that question a lot easier to
answer, both for blind and sighted travelers alike. While GPS
technology is not new for blind or visually impaired travelers, it
seems as though we have more choices than we ever have had in the
past.
A member of our group suggested that we devote a meeting to discuss
GPS technology. I thought it was a great direction for us to travel,
no pun intended, and so the June phone meeting will be devoted to
this important and interesting topic. Whether you use a Trekker
Breeze, Sendero product, Nearby Explorer, Blindsquare or the
built-in Maps app on your iPhone we'd love to hear from you with
your questions, comments, experiences and recommendations.
The meeting is scheduled for Friday, June 26 at 8:00 PM Eastern
time.
To participate, the number to call is
(712) 432-3900
When prompted for your access code, enter 391477, followed by the
pound key.
To quote Bill from the
New Vision Store whenever he sells or repairs a cane, "safe
travels."
