Suntou,

I equally respect your opinion... how do you interpret this statement of yours? "Hitler a once powerful leader of a ruthless military machine, whose pride and arrogance knows no bound, was left with nothing but to accept defeat, yet Dr Saine is still laboring on a group that never started, and has done nothing to be an inclusive neither anything closer being an umberella outfit, hence his response should be precise and less arrogant"

Besides I have no reason to hold brief for Dr. Saine... I have been consistent here and anywhere I opined. You have no privy to my private opinion on any except on hear say since I don't speak or exchange messages with you. It is total gossip and you have been a master in that.. All am saying is don't jump to insult or call people names because of your difference in opinion. If you sit and condemn Dr. Saine or anyone's leadership then show us the delivery of those you hold higher... Am done with this topic and continue to earn more respect by calling people names...best of luck...

Good afternoon. Actually, as usual, we will disagree on how we see the topic. I will answer one thing, not the 'Beef part' with the good Dr Saine, since i have none with him. I have beef with Gambian issues, not a person per say. In this case, every honest observer will agree that, Dr Saine overreacted, was a bit cocky and placed too much importance on his dormant position in Cordeg.
Now the bit  I find laughable in your reaction is the 'Hitler' bit.
Seriously, the nuance of what I stated never in any way compare Dr Saine to Hitler as equals. Since Hitler was once the most powerful man in Europe, whose legacy and finger prints will be subject of discussions and debate till eternity. Hence, there is nothing to compare Dr Saine with to Hitler.
If you comprehend the nuance of what I stated, I was merely saying, Hitler a once powerful leader of a ruthless military machine, whose pride and arrogance knows no bound, was left with nothing but to accept defeat, yet Dr Saine is still laboring on a group that never started, and has done nothing to be an inclusive neither anything closer being an umberella outfit, hence his response should be precise and less arrogant.
However, I do expect that, you will be always openly field for Dr Saine, whilst your private opinion may be something else.
The ghost writer Femi Mahoney is attempting shower praise on Dr Saine, good luck to him. Thanks and goodbye

Suntou,

I don't know what your beef is with Dr. Saine but you also over reacted by calling Dr. Saine the "ugly side" and comparing him to Hilter is unfortunate and reactionary on your part. I would have never rejoin to this if you have not mentioned my name. See let's always put ourselves in other's shoes. I am sure you may never have interacted with Dr. Saine and to just jump over and call people names for simple disagreements is unfortunate. Respect is earned and not given... You may hate CORDEG for whatever reason but for God sake who or what group is giving us solutions we need? It is time we really self assess ourselves.

Kejau, if I was Dr. Saine I would have reacted differently at least with greater sign of leadership tone... And YES actually journalists can be king makers and can bring down kings as well... a simple statement made public by a leader and publish by a journalist can determine their success and or failure... just to note....

Demba and Suntou,

I think Dr. Saine rightly reacted this proposal as you cannot really expect the leader of CORDEG, the leader of the Gambia umbrella organisation to subject himself to an election by the so called leaders. I think Dr. Saine, in fact was very diplomatic and it was great that he spotted this out in good time.

What makes you people think CORDEG has failed? CORDEG is on course to achieve what we are setup to do despite the few setbacks we are encountering along the way.

Sadly, I am not rejoincing over anything. In fact, I contended that, Diaspora is in shambles, after the hard work that went into Cordeg, so that element is a major blow. And the rest of your response is fine. you guys just go ahead and table the ideas you got. People are looking for a solution, and whoever facilitate that, the masses are with you. Dr Saine over reacting is an understatement. He went wild.

Well Suntou,

I think Dr. Saine over reacted especially after receiving an earlier communication with clear objectives of discussing the way forward. A simple note for clarification would have done it.

Having said that again blaming anyone individual or group for our failures will not take us anywhere and amounts to dogging responsibilities. With or without Dr Saine or CORDEG we have not made any progress. No one stop anybody or group from moving forward. So I don't know what you rejoicing over. The sad reality is that we enjoy this negative reactions instead of manning up and finding solutions. We are just a bunch of failures waving our egos over nothing. I am truly ashamed.

The ugle side to Dr Saine, talk of alienating friends Read the article here: http://thegambiaechos.com/index.php/permalink/4175.html
Uncle Dr Abdoulie Saine is still in denial. The reason diaspora groups are still calling for another Umbrella group is because CORDEG failed and could not start. The letter to Gambia Echo demonstrate a sad side to Dr Saine. The tone on the letter, the pomposity and arrogance and the plain refusal to take a backseat and reflect is painful reading. Diaspora is still in shambles and Cordeg did not even attempt to fix it.
Dr Saine's opinion seems to highlight contentment with being the Leader...Job done is that is all that matters to you.
An anology I can make here is the final battle of Berlin. Hitler who confesses never to attend a military academy proudly said to his generals "you are all useless and worthless sons of Germany. I have single-handledly conquered Europe without attending any military academy". This statement came after Hitler realises, he lost the war and was contemplating putting a bullet in his skull.
When will Dr Saine realise, Cordeg is doomed, failed, not even talked about and a wasted opportunity, when Professor? Hitler admits the end, and you a decorated scholar still yap yapping with fury..Am sorry Uncle, but this is gone far too long. End it. Not that I have any more hope in the new gathering, I have no clue who who is behind the whole show, but at least, a new concept have to be develop now.
Anyone who enjoy politics, political satire and drama, movie will enjoy the new colour film on the rise and fall of the Nazi's, albeit Hitler's final realisation that, it was all over. Hitler's final days was full of pain and disappointment. His final defence of Berlin, his red line, mimicking Saddam Hussain's Republican guards defence plan of Baqdag.

When Hitler realises that, the Russians have surrounded Berlin and many key military supply routes taken, all his hopes shifted to the final magic assault. Well, his Generals refuse to obey his orders, and they were playing a sophisticated trick on him. Agreeing with every orders but executing none. What amazes me was, Hitler's insult at the German Generals, He branded them a disappointment, the failures and betrayers of the mighty German noble race.
Dr Saine is now jabbing at his supporters indirectly, calling the new movement a circus..well Demba and Mb Krubally and co, advise your friend. Dr Saine's cordeg have never gone to battle, and certainly never fought any war, let alone losing it. Hence his language and comportment must be mild and mellowed.
