I'm not surprised. I've gotten pretty piss poor wifi connections at malls, airports and hotels. I'm fortunate enough to have an unlimited cellular data plan through AT&T, and there have been times that even after capping my throughput, my cellular data connection has been speedier than my free wifi connection.
