I don't know about others but UDP UK Chapter uses an official letter head for such purposes.

Anyway, your concern is noted.

Regardless this is not the best practice to conduct public business of the party. The party need a fix.

One alternative could be - New York branch produce a document on the business of the trip. The officials traveling attached that to their application with a party covering letter. Such letter at least for this matter should be signed and stamped at the head office.

Again nothing personal and/or ill intent on my part. My view is we should strive for what is right if our cause is to have it right.

Hope UDP consider this as one area to improve on rather than drag on arguing the wrong past.

Thanks again!

Burama.

Burama, well it was an official approach. Pa Saikou wrote an invitation in his capacity as the coordinator of UDP New York Chapter, not in his personal capacity.

None of UDP's party officials need a personal invitation from Pa Saikou and none have requested from him.

Again, I hope this helps.

Thanks

Thanks! I understand!

This is not the best practice especially considering the strategic position of UDP in the Gambian struggle.

Hope party operatives change the practice to a more official approach. A preacher should be a practioner to claim any moral standing.

Thanks again!

Burama, it was an official party trip and usually a UDP chapter in the country to be visited would invite the party delegates. This is how an invitation letter comes in the equation.

I hope this helps.

I’m just curious!

What was this/these trip(s) for - official UDP matter or personal to those involved? If the trip(s) were official why the need to a resident in US to write an invitation?

I don’t know any details of this/these matter(s) but UDP as a major player in our struggle to be named in this/these grey dealings is not encouraging to say the least. UDP should be able to submit visa applications for all officials matters based on the credences of the organization/party.

Finally the best solution is everybody to come clean and let the  chips fall where they may. It maybe our culture to try bury everything but these are great affronts to democracy and until we as a nation take a stand to say hence forth every public affairs is fair game for us to know and prosecute at least in the public sphere we can’t realistically expect anything better than what obtained under both Jawara and Yahya.

Can someone convince me UDP administration  will be any better than PPP/A(F)PRC with all these supposed unprincipled conduct of public business?

Regards

Burama

Please Hon. Pa Saikou,
do not waste your time on this issue any more. As you rightly stated first i was the one contacted however directed the UDP Administrative Secretary Ebou Manneh to contact you hence you are the UDP-NYC Coordinator. In fact due to the urgency of the request from Mr. Manneh, i asked you to call him immediately and you did because he called me back to let me know that you are connected about the matter. You wrote an Invitation letter which you let Hon. Wassa Janneh, Mr. Falai Baldeh, Hon. Bakary Manneh and my self to know about. Hon.Kujabi, today if anyone should ask anything about the UDP NYC Chapter, you are the one he or she should contact because all of us look upon you and we respect you very well.

Next what happened at the American Embassy-Banjul is only best known to Mr. Yaya Jallow, Ousainou Darboe, and Ebou Manneh. Well one can speculate but no one can come out here with an evidence.

My concern here is that both You and Mr. Suntou S. Daffeh are valuable assets to the Party and to the struggle to bring about genuine democracy and respect for fundamental human rights in The Gambia. I cannot mention here all the good efforts both of you have done and are still doing for the UDP Party but it is only God who can reward you.

It is no secret that Suntou S. Daffeh and Abdoukarim Sanneh are the first people in UK that we were dealing with concerning help for the UDP party and they tried extremely well as a result today we have a UDP- UK chapter there. I have good respect for them.

Let us treat this incident as a misunderstanding and move on. We have many wars to fight in the coming years. Thank you all.

Daffeh,

Thanks again for validating my report.  You keep repeating the same junk by saying that the caller only called Yaya's daughter, and she voluntarily revealed her visa issue, "without being asked". This is the same deceptive position you have always maintained. What new evidence is here that your investigation has revealed? Absolutely nothing. You see, you are just determined to bend the truth just to cover someone else's behind. Your dude interrogated the little girl prior to the interview and you keep lying that it was after the effect.

Common sense teaches you that given the effect of this treacherous deed, your dude will never admit publicly to this cowardly act. Further, who in his right min
