For those who enjoy outstanding audio fidelity, and for those who wonder why some of us persist in our enjoyment of the AM mode, check out the MP3 noted in the following message. Brian, W5AMI, had just finished restoring a Scott RCH receiver when he made this recording of Don, K4KYV on 3.885 MHZ. Don is the southeastern region's most outstanding AM signal personality, much as TimTron is in the northeast, but with perhaps a bit more polish and tact, sometimes. ----- Original Message ----- To: "Discussion of AM Radio in the Amateur Service" <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Monday, May 13, 2013 12:05 AM Subject: [AMRadio] K4KYV recorded on Scott RCH Heard Don/kyv tonight on with N8XPK, so I decided to attempt a recording of Don on the Scott RCH I just finished restoring. The RCH has an adjustable output on the phone jack at 600 (or 20k) ohms, so I just fed the phone output directly into my M-Audio Delta 44 computer sound interface. Worked well. Of course Don has always had great audio, and sounded great on the RCH. Here is the mp3. 3885 kcs at about 0545UT tonight. About 9 minutes. http://w5ami.net/audio/k4kyv12May2013.mp3 Brian / w5ami -- "Who feeds a hungry animal feeds his own soul" - Charles Chaplin ______________________________________________________________ Our Main Website: http://www.amfone.net AMRadio mailing list Searchable Archives: http:[log in to unmask] List Rules (must read!): http://w5ami.net/amradiofaq.html List Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/amradio Post: [log in to unmask] To unsubscribe, send an email to [log in to unmask] with the word unsubscribe in the message body.
