Rhonda,
That verse also makes it clear that such
beneficial blessings of things being worked out for our good only applies to
those who are called, born again, in other words. If you read the
chapter, Romans 8, from verse one down to the one you quoted, it is also
clear, those who are called, aren't living carnal Christian lives. All
the things you mentioned about you and your husband makes my list giant in
comparison. I mean, I have hundreds of things I can blame God for, and
have, to some degree, many times throughout my life. I miss seeing the
stars, though, and plan on doing a lot of star gazing when Jesus comes.
I have a list of things to ask Him, too, but they probably won't have much
meaning by the time I quote see unquote, Him. I will see Him as He truly
is, according to First John, so that's a given.
Phil.

I am by no means a biblical scholar, but one of
my favorite verses says all things work together for good......it doesn't
say all things are good. My husband Ben has diabetes, and because of that
lost the use of his kidneys, and most of his eye sight. Are those things
good? Is it good to go blind after seeing for all of your life? Of
course not, but good did come from those things. They in themselves weren't
good.
Blessings!!!

Angel,
I think you are going to need to expand on
what you said a little more. I'm scratching the dome trying to
figure out exactly what you mean. I don't see any good in Rick
Warren's 27 year old son living emotionally in hell for all those years
and then taking his own life. I find it difficult to see good in
abortion, murder of any kind, or a daughter strung out on drugs and is
shot and killed by a gang member. I think you are saying, although I
could be wrong, that God can make good come out of the worst of
situations. I know you aren't saying God can bring temptation to
someone because the Bible already says He cannot do that and won't do
that. I'm guessing you mean, if temptation comes, God can make
something good happen regardless of the circumstances?

All things, even temptations, can be used
by us as lessons to teach us to be able to see and overcome weaknesses
within ourselves. using this reasoning, all things are good.
It is only our lack of proper prospective we view them as
otherwise. Good can be found in all things if we diligently look
for it.

Hi Everyone,
I have some comments
here.
We sometimes blame God, but we shouldn't. It is not his
fault if we are in a mess.
God does not allow bad things to
happen to us. He does not make bad things happen.
He can turn
the results of bad things into blessings.
The F4 Tornado we
were in was not from God, however there were many blessings as a
result of the Tornado.
Love and Blessings,
Pat
Ferguson

we let our circumstances control how we feel?
I read a book
once called Found God's Will by John Mcarthur, very good book. He
said that if we do the things we know God has told us to do, then
we can basically make our own decisions. The Bible will never say
anywhere, Rhonda, be a vocational counselor and apply at the
University of Kentucky graduate program. But, if I see my
compassion and concern for others as a God given gift, I then feel
I am following His will when I apply to the graduate program. God
says I should trust in Him with all my heart, and not lean to my
own understanding, is it then my lack of trust that causes me to
worry and question circumstances.
I love thought provoking
questions.
Blessings
Rhonda

- If God is indeed in control, then is feeling
like we are in a mess all the time our fault? Furthermore,
how do you know God's will unequivocally?
