Hi Jim,

Tnx for the suggestion, but no dice.   I already had the clock set not 
to show.    But you may be right, I'm not positive it  is coming from 
the TNC.

If I run the TNC emulation from MMTTY, I get the date/time stamp each 
minute, but if I use the  same terminal program  for telnet connection 
to the packet cluster,  I get "connected to dxusa" followed by the 
date/time.

Maybe there is something in Windows triggering this, but I'll have to 
dig deeper.
