Hello Everyone:
You did it! And thank you! Inspite of your backpains, sweat, cold, and the weather conditions, you installed the seats at Camp Randall Football Stadium during the Summer and removed them on Sunday, 11/18/12, in this Winter! On behalf of the AAM Fundraising Committee, thanks a billion!
Thanks also to all the families that were represented at either or both phases for allowing your loved ones to forgo valuable time with you and spend it with us at the stadium.
It may not have been easy, but you showed commitment and dedication to serving your organization and other members of the entire African Community in the Madison, WI, area who will benefit from the funds raised through this and future efforts.
We had fun doing it. As my eight-year-old son summed it, "Daddy, it was fun" (although he spent some of it eating and fighting with his 11-year-old sister).
The funds raised will be used to promote programs such as scholarship, mentoring, New Year's Eve Galas, annual festival, and establish our very own Africa Center for Community Development (ACCD).
For those who couldn't make it, thank you for your prayers and well wishes. Through them, you boosted our morale and enthusiasm to get the job done.
Should we get the contract next year, my prayer and hope are that many more of us will volunteer for the benefit of us all.
Many thanks also go to the AAM Board of Directors for showing its leadership once again and participating in the seat installation and removal project. Truly, we are blessed to have a board that we can count on for direction, guidance, and hands-on participation in times of need.
May God continue to empower them and all of us to do great things for our African Community.
