Thanks Haruna,

We will appreciate if you invite other African organizations and individuals to attend the protest march.  Here are some of the information you may find helpful;

The protest is now shedulled for Thursday September 6th, 2012 starting from The Gambia Mission at 08:00AM and wrapping up at the United Nations at 1:00PM sharp.  The Gambia Mission is located right at the corner of 42nd Street (East Side) and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan.  All trains stop at 42nd St.

We have schedulled a preparatory meeting for tomorrow--Saturday, September 01st at the Gambian Society Community Center on 1500 Boston Road in The Bronx.  That meeting starts at 5:00PM and ends not late than 7:00PM. Anybody who wanna know more about the protest and travel info should come to the meeting, and on time.

The Community Center's telephone number is 1718-293-0500, or 917-618-8190.

Gibril Bah and Modou Nyang, please take note of these changes.

With Momodou Nyang, and Gibril Bah availling themselves to parcipate, with our ever-ready Saihou Mballow and Wassa Janneh, and others, we can organize a successful one in The Big Apple.

1) A MASS PROTEST AT THE UP-COMING UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING IN ABOUT TWO WEEKS.  NEW YORK COORDINATING TEAM WILL CONTACT AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL, AFRICAN ORGANIZATIONS, REV. AL SHARPTON AND OTHER HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATIONS IN AND ARROUND NEW YORK METROPOLITAN AREA.

Beautiful Pa Saikou. Now we have Momodou Nyang, Gibril Bah, the indomitable Saihou Mballow, Wassa Janneh, and Pa Saikou to organize a formidable NY campaign for Sept 4th. I like the idea of including Al-Sharpton and other NY advocacy organizations in this formidable demonstration.

I'm proud of you Pa Saikou. If we can communicate the venue and time of the demonstration early and often, I promise to invite Sierra Leoneans, Malians, LaGuineans, Liberians, Senegalese, and some other Gambians living in New York to join you in solidarity.

I look forward to the venue and date so I can communicate it in good time to these good folk. Cousin Modou please advise as soon as you agree on a venue and time.

May God bless you all in New York. You have always done us proud.

Haruna.

Guys,

I am all for any protest that will draw world, and perhaps bring about some degree of international pressure on Yaya's wicked heart.  But lets be real, except for Atlanta folks who may have a news flash by CNN, if they are really lucky, otherwise babaric acts of this magnitude demands a massive protest that can attract the media.  I don't think these proposed small pocket protests will make any significant difference from the ones we had in the past. I think every genuine Gambian should be willing to travel far to attend such a protest at anywhere its been organized.  But only when such event is carefully planned and well organized, will it produce our desired result.  I think the protest is no longer about stopping Yaya from carrying out more execution because strongly belief that he's gonna kill the rest on his list anyway.  I hope I am wrong; from now on, our focus should be on those that have already been executed unjustly--- the soldiers, students, other private citizens, the list goes on.  We demontarted at the Gambian Permanent Mission in New York when he slaughtered our babies on April 10th and 11th, 2000.  Since then, more people got killed by his agents, with impunity. Sadly, this executions will not be the end of this madness. We are all aware that Yaya vowed openly that he "will happily slaughter a 1000 people to save a million"  If anyone thinks he was joker, then you've got to sit back and do your home all over again, because will be dead wrong on every issue about him.

Here is my suggestion:    ORGANIZE ONE OR TWO MASS DEMONSTRATIONS;

PROTEST AT THE U.S STATE DEPARTMENT OR CAPITOL HILL ON MONDAY SEPTEMBER  10 2012 AT A GIVEN TIME TO BE DECIDED BY THE DC/MARRYLAND COORDINATION TEAM.  NEW YORKERS WILL UNDOUBTEDLY ATTEND BOTH.

With Momodou Nyang, and Gibril Bah availling themselves to parcipate, with our ever-ready Saihou Mballow and Wassa Janneh, and others, we can organize a successful one in The Big Apple.

Pa. Saikou Kujabi.
