How observant of you brother Saiks to recognize value in oft detritus (July 22nd celebration amid such abject poverty and great need). You would think radio-graphic and other equipment would have been installed at RVH or RVTH by now. Locations for treatment overseas will surely dry out one day. Overseas taxpayers are struggling for healthcare. Gambia's officials have their babies delivered overseas. Only DaarManso/God/Allah will save the sick of Gambia. When you have the equipment, the radiographer will not be available. One has to be brought in from overseas. Allahuwakubaru!!!!!!!!

I join you in prayer for Manneh and Barry.

Haruna.

Whiles reading the Dailyobserver  this evening, my eyes were not  captured by the upcoming 18th  anniversary of july 22,but by these two very similar stories:
The first story  is about  a very humble man who served ,and still,serving the nation ,and for many decades, he  “Ismaila Manneh started working as a Mandinka announcer with GRTS in 1979 when it was called Radio Gambia as. He is presently the principal producer responsible for 'Talks, Religious and Cultural programmes.” (Dailyobserver)
A medical report about him stated:
“The patient is now haemoynamically stable. Cystoscopy and biopsy is not possible and the relevant chemotherapy agent is not available and there is no radiotherapy for adequate palliative treatment. He has been informed of the diagnosis,” the report further stated. “Dailyobserver)
And quoting from another medical report, this time our own RVH:the reporter wrote;
“Another medical report from Fajara Medical Centre indicated that the patient was presented at the RVTH in November 2011 with persistent heavy haematuria requiring resuscitation with four pints of blood but later, investigation by imaging revealed a turmour of the urinary bladder with osseous metastasis and the facility for the rediotherapy are locally lacking, hence he was advised to proceed abroad.”(Dailyobserver)

And the  article ended with an appeal to ;
 Those who want to assist Manneh can reach him on 9906397 or 3655705. It will be anoble cause to assist this man for hehas contributed positively towards nation buildingspanning over three decades with sincerity and commitment.2 (Dailyobserver)
In the second story it  is states that  ;
 One Abdoulie Barry, a native of Bundung Central is in urgent need of assistance to undergo an overseas treatment. According to a medical report issued from the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH), Abdoulie Barry was received at the Department of Pediatrics about 14 months ago with eight months history of bilateral neck swelling which has been increasing progressively in size with pain. “ (Dailyobserver)
Stated in this article is also that;
 To heal Abdoulie, the report revealed that he needs to undergo further evaluations with a lymphoscintigraphic scan towards achieving a deformitive intervention with an involved field radiotherapy, multimodal intensive chemotherapy and adjuvant surgical intervention. This treatment, according to the medical report can only be done overseas.” (Dailyobserver)
And the reporter informed that
Speaking to the Daily Observer with tears running down her face Fansainey Danso, the mother of the patient lamented that she is a single mother and does not have the financial means to support her son. She therefore appealed to individuals, NGOs, government, public and private sectors to help save the life of her son.
Anyone willing to help Abdoulie Barry can contact the following numbers: 3658204/4399802.

Believe me or not, there will be more people at the 18th anniversary of july22 than the number of people who will be reading the observer for a whole week, to get to as many people as possible for a collection of contribution, there will be no  better place than at the july 22 celebration event. This is my little contribution to these sad cases,  i wish i could do more, spread the news.
