Thanks to all of you for your wonderful comments on
this topic. They have been thought provoking for us here at the
beginning of a fresh new year. And just maybe Jesus will come back for us
this year! Wow! Wouldn't that be something. Talk about
exponential growth!
What I do, is not make resolutions. I do try
to find some ways to foster spiritual growth. This year I really didn't
have anything specific though I do follow a Bible reading plan that I select to
keep me in the Word everyday. I went back to one I used in 2007 for this
year. This is something we have talked about quite occasionally
here. I'm asking the Lord for more boldness to share Jesus under the
leadership of the Holy Spirit. That means I need to listen for him
more. Our world so much needs God's grace. The message at church
this morning was living in the operation of God's grace. It was good
too. I'm also working on a simple piano CD. .
Off the Crosswalk site, there is a great article
titled,"Breaking the Complacency Habit: 10 Ways to Grow Spiritually in 2012,"by
Cindi McMenamin. While this author writes with women in mind, what she
shares really applies to all of us. Check that out for some thoughts for
growth in 2012. It's not long. But the page was difficult to paste
here.
Feel free to continue commenting.
Have a great week.

Subject: So it's 2012
I thought the first topic of the year would be
not a Bible study topic exactly, but one, nevertheless that should get us
going. We won't stay a whole month on this one. Let's try to wrap
it up by approximately the end of Friday, January 13th
What do you do, if anything at the beginning of
the year to assist with your spiritual growth for the coming year? Do
you make spiritual goals or plans? If so, can you share some of them
with us. My thought here is not for things like New Year's resolutions,
but things that have more to do with our continuing Christian walk or
life.

"Don’t worry about anything; instead,
pray about everything. Tell God what you need, thank him for all he has
done.
Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can
understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in
Christ Jesus."
(Phil. 4:6-7, NIV)
