Yero,
My vote is not for Obama, because i am not an American citizen and have no desire to be one. As for Hamat withdrawing his candidature, that is not going to happen.

Sir Coach,

It is a big mistake to think that the opposition are useless and I bet to differ with that notion, but the truth remains the golden ball was smashed on the rock and the pieces are scattered around. The ping-pong ball was bouncing between these political parties, notably the top leaders in the person of Halifa, Darboe, Hamat, and you name the rest. While I can never doubt of the opposition's sincerity, their last minute separation tells a lot about their leadership skills. It shows clearly that they are stocked on principles that they cannot break free from. Now that the ball start rolling, we are all holding our 'kurtas' in anticipation of the big dance of victory come an opposition win. My biggest respect goes to all of them despite my disagreements on some of their principles, the latest was a last minute selection through a convention when they had a good five years to do this.

To clarify, I know you and I are probably not legible to vote in the Gambia anyway, so the win cannot be from us. We will give ours to Barack Obama.  How about Hamat withdraw his candidature and ask all his supporters to massively vote for Darboe. Is that too late, coach? On a second buttress I just wanted to position that the analysis to say even if Jammeh wins, things will be different doesn’t really convince me. That would have been possibly only if there was one pressure group, even though I understand of late, there has been a lot of pressure especially with the north African spring.

Coming back to the Foroyaa "pop pop", I thought I was dancing to Michael Jackson's music upon hearing the word. (laugh out loud). Foroyaa is good at calming readers down, and they've been doing a good job engaging and educating for decades. My take is honestly not on Foroyaa. It is on the voice pop pop polling which seems to suggest that the expected big win by jammeh is now more. I don’t think it is the big win or small win that matters. The simple majority rule which you are familiar with more than me states a win by one vote is a win.

Anyway, good luck to the opposition! Down with Jammeh and his cronies!! Thanks for adding value to this thread.

Yero,
And you know what, that is your opnion and i respect that. I just reject this notion that Foroyaa is trying to tell folks to shut up. I am not the one to give you a win, it is the electorate who can give a win. Better yet, those who beleieve that current opposition leaders are useless asnd clowns could help you and get rid of Jammeh. Go figure

Coach,

I too agree with Joe. The Voice Pop is really funny to me. While I appreciate mighty Foroyaa giving us all this hope in a way to calm people on their fears and anxieties. The last stroke that broke the camel's back was the inability to come together. I think Halifa of late has been too harsh in his tone on the diaspora namely the two interviews with did with Foroyaa. Even though I do not see him saying we should shut up, I think the simple majority is very complicated maths to work around, especially with the split of the votes between Darboe and Hamat. I saw you saying that even if Jammeh wins, things are not going to be the same. I honestly differ in opinion coach. The best thing is to sent Yaya and his criminals packing. In as much Jammeh is in power, I honestly don't see any difference.

anyway, give me a win...and that is all I ask for.

Thanks,

Joe,
What makes you think that the one vote could not go to either the UDP or United front's way? The only campaign that appears to be in shambles is Yahya Jammeh's who has decided to not only go back on the campaign trail but to call for reinforcement in the persons of Yanks and FJC. Foroyaa as a paper also has a right to draw its own conclusion that like you and others did. So, i see no reason why Foroyaa's believe that there will be a lanslide victory is meant to shut people up.
One thing is very clear, Jammeh is not so sure of victory now as he was three weeks ago. This doesn't mean that he would lose, but there is no guarantee that he will sweep the polls either.

Yero, my read of this article is that Foroyaa is on some kind of crusade to justify division within the opposition that yielded two candidates. They are talking about landslide victory and circumstance when all Jammeh need is one lone and single vote to take it all. This jab about those who cannot conduct professional polls (like they conducted one) is neither here nor there. It is a slick way of telling folks to shut up, which will never happen. Citizens are going to make their voices heard.

The Foroyaa Voice Pops

[Furthermore, we have also done a voice pop on the processions related to the nomination of the candidates and got the impression that the landslide victory that was predicted is no longer quite obvious to many.
The IEC has made it abundantly clear that Governors and Chiefs should not participate in the election campaign in favour of a candidate.
An open defiance of the position of the IEC is the beginning to surface. There is need for all sides to respect the bench marks created by the IEC to ensure that there is a free and fair election.
We hope the foreign observers would start to monitor the elections during the campaign period to determine whether the code of conduct put in place by the IEC is being respected or not.]--Foroyaa.

The landslide victory?  If there was a single candidate all these would-be-violations would have mattered.
