Uncle Mass,

I am not receiving mail from Ellen so forgive the unusual manner here.

You stated below that "The opposition should come out united AFTER the elections to CONDEMN CARAYOL.

Think about if the opposition UNITES BEFORE the Election and FORECLOSES on the Carayol IEC. Then go to Free and Fair elections and WIN.

Haruna. Compare the value of the two scenarios. ANd they do not have to unite before the election to yield this. They can separately but in UNISON DEMAND a LEGITIMATE IEC and when they go to elections UN-UNITED, Yahya WILL NOT and CANNOT come out victor of any Free and Fair election. You dig??

[
Ansu,
I agree with you 100% together we can.Even individaully in a free fair and balanced elections. In the Gambia under criminal Mustapha Carayol, all these may never be possible. I want the oppositions to realise this and unite  to uproot this rotten system. Even if they would not unite, let them at least do it for Gambia's shake and collectively under a united umbrella come out united after elections condemning Carayol and his master. I mean strength lies in union.x

The opposition would have won despite the corrupt and biased nature of the IEC
against them. That would make the opposition even more legitimate. They can
then go on to clean house and give us a real IEC that would be independent and
care about all the stakeholders; not just Jammeh and APRC.

Thanks LJ.
Independence of IEC is matter of opinion and not of fact. Either way
independence is not the same as legitimacy.
My concern is if the opposition wins and the legitimacy is of concern how are
they going to legitimise that government.

How say you to our good brother Haruna?

Do you think the IEC is independent?

If not independent, then may be constitutionally deficient?

Assuming the IEC's deficiency is of deliberate design, what does that say for
its legitimacy?

Brother Kejau,

I understand you are a luminary legal scholar.

1. Illegitimate is a bit different from Illegal. It is generally context that
determines the meaning of some words.

2. In a dictatorship and a criminal enterprise, NOTHING is ILLEGAL or
ILLEGITIMATE.

Illegitimacy of institutions gives dictatorships and criminal enterprises life
and sustenance. That is where the terms: aiding and abetting came from in cannon
and tort law.

Thank you for your concern and query in this matter Kejau. I hope I have
explained amply.

Haruna.

How is the IEC illegal. You cannot just throw words around. Tell what is illegal
about them and how their illegitimacy can affect Yayas defeat.

Thank you Ansumana for sharing the Freedomnewspaper and the IEC. It is
comforting to learn that Carayol is efforting in due-diligence in bringing us
the november elections. My baseline contention is that the current Carayol IEC
is illegitimate and Carayol ought to consider resigning and insisting on a
representative IEC. However, should his conscience not accomodate such sobriety,
I applaud him for efforting to conduct good elections. It will never be good in
these circumstances. I encourage all opposition parties, united or not, to
boycot the november polls unless a legitimate IEC is constituted.

Haruna.
