Ron,
No I wont answer your questions. You insulted me and attacked my integrity for asking a simple a clarification. You have lost my confidence and I do not see you as a leader, Ron, but a bully and a dictator like Yaya. That is the disappointment I never expected. Honestly, I thought you are reasonable, smart and good, but I am wrong and the only difference between you, Daffeh, Mass and Yaya is because he is in power and it can be safely deducted that when your party wins, we will have atleast three dictators in our country.

Runa,

No, I don't get it, you think anyone here is your son to tell him what you want. The only remedy apart from going personal, which way I can too, is to delist me from G L.

So if you have to answer as the question was not directed to you but to Daffoh....

That's right Kejau. I don't want any questioning of APRC, UDP, NRP, PDOIS, ppp, or GMC. I'm glad you're gettin it. The only questions I will allow are those of Yahya. You get it? Good.

 Haruna.

Thanks Daffeh,

by

Ben Fess Tep deh?

How does your party intend to reign in and discipline councils, after they are democratically elected, without them breaking any laws?] Kejau.

You reign in elected officials who commit crimes by arresting them and prosecuting them before a competent court of law. You do not reign in anyone who DOES not commit a crime. If you have an incompetent official who was elected, you make sure the voters have recourse to RECALL.

[That seems dictatorial,] Kejau.

That's because you misunderstood Hon. Daffeh and you are a military man. GOing around arresting and reigning in folk for no reason Kejau. What is wrong with yew????

[but you ought to be commended for discussing issues now, at least.] Kejau.

This is not an issue. Read the UDP Manifesto. This is a matter of crime and punishment. That is the work of the judiciary and police. Not of opposition parties. The governors set the tone by making sure justice is served equally, without fear or favour.

[Second issue is you have not exactly said how you intend to resolve the stand pipe issue. A more thorough analysis may be needed, as the public stand pipe issue can be thorny. It borders on the fair collection of taxes as well and at the same time the provision of water for everyone, IMHO. An alternative solution is to look at other countries beyond our borders, UK for instance, where water is treated as an essential utility and provided in every home and not on the street, just like electricity.] Kejau.

Everyone in the world would rather have running water in their homes than have to run to the public tap everytime they need water. Instead of waste public resources on a home in Maryland and shopping sprees for his wife, Yahya could build a water treatment plant for every town, lay the pipework to deliver that water to homes, build a sewage treatment plant to treat wastewater before dumping toxic waste in the ocean and killing off fish or making folk sick all the time. No need to look to another country for potable water and sewerage Kejau. Common sense is all we need. When you build a house, you can tap into the public piping infrastructure like everyone else if you can afford it. If you can't afford it, you go to the public tap or seek assistance from the UDP government's Indigent Assistance Fund where no public tap is easily accessible from your million dalasi mansion.

Allez. Haruna.

''If nawec's price increases, either the area council charges people at water tap or increase their property taxes... How will darbo deal with that? It is easy to talk than implement''- Fankung

Darboe will;

1. Institute a decentralised system of local government administration with local council having significant autonomy.

2. Repeal the Local govt. Act 2007 to ensure that our local govt. administration is purely based on democratically elected councils as opposed to presidential appointments

3. Allocate central govt. funding to local councils to augment local revenue and promote the equitable distribution of state resources thereby narrowing the disparity in the quality of public services in different regions of the country

4. Institute an efficient tax collection regime that would allow the local councils to widen their revenue base but at the same time make them accountable for such taxes.

5. All Area councils will be audited twice a year and an audited report presented to the National Assembly at the end of the financial year.

6. The central govt. will reserve powers to rain in and discipline rogue councils whose behaviour are to congenial to the desires of their people.

7. The people will have an opportunity to change their council or councillors and chairmen/mayor every four years.

8. Chairmen/women and mayors will not serve more that 2 terms of four yrs. This is to avoid self perpetuation and promote efficiency.

If you compare the above to the status quo, the decision can only be to vote Darboe beh mu fess tepp!

Right, if you want to have it in that context, why is then that the Kerewan Area Council is putting levy on water when in fact, the people who pay those levies actually pay tax for the provision of such servicespublic services? Why is the tax money going?

Basse Area Council has D900,000.00 debt to liquidate but has still afford to contribute D200,000 to Jammeh's political tour. Meanwhile, GIA has already made a pre-tax loss of D84Million. GPTC has collapse and Gamtel is in a state of stagnation. This is not about APRC being asleep on the wheels; it is about APRC being inept, period.
