Esirabeh,

I am with you and all of the others that sacrificed their time, energy, and resources to spearhead our struggle.

I have met Darboe and had a nice interview with him back then when he visited Minnesota. Quite frankly, he is a likeable person. I like his cool-demeanor and his reliance entirely on the law for almost everything. It tells that he is a lawyer, a renowned one at that.

Besides that, my take on Darboe is the same as my take on Halifa, Hamat, Gomez, and the rest of their group mates of politicians. The late Ted Kennedy (Lion of the US Senate) once cautioned his party mates, Obama and Hillary. He said he will endorse the person that exercises the best character. That of course includes their supporters since a leader is not a leader without his followers. That is exactly my take on our politicians. Ted’s wisdom is both political and mathematical in nature. The only winning mechanism is unity. I hope that both the top echelons and their individual supporters will do away with the little and big differences.

A very good way to look at this problem at hand is to compromise in policies. Under a normal circumstance, it shouldn’t be hard to come up with one candidate. It requires reasoning beyond selfishness and a mind that focuses on the plight of the Gambian people on truly what matters to us. Personally, I will only support a unified coalition with due respect to what anyone else thinks about this. I am not against Jammeh because of his face. I am only against him because of the human rights violations and other crimes he’ve committed to Gambians, most of which are unforgettable and unforgiveable. Above all, his deaf and dumb nature continually worries me. With what we’ve seen Jammeh do, I have no doubt that the man is a rotten lunatic ready to blow his head.

I must be honest with you that I am not very current with developments on these talks. All I can say, our politicians need to recognize the urgency of now, and prepare an inheritable Gambia for our kids and grandchildren. They should consider strictly term limits and adherence to the law. If they have any process in place, they should exhaust all avenues to see to it that they unite for the sake of the Gambia we all belong.

Just a piece of advice compatriots --let us keep our pair of eyes on the ball.

Also, thanks for the joke on the Fulani. Funny how your inlaw (Laye) puts it that way. Not unfortunate (fortunately) some of us married outside our cultures. We are equally happy & I am truely glad to hear of your experience, and I said hmmmm....lol. Not Prince sankanoh! Not Michael Scales! Go figure out then!

My most God blessed in law,
I agree with you 100% you see I called you Mawdo because Fulas have given me the best and for that even a Fula born today is mawdo as far as am concerned. So don't wory whe I called you one.If anyone wants a wife I suggest you go for a fula and would never regret it. I drink COOSAM each day for breakfast and LAAKIRI is plentiful. My gush life is good here and am always over the moon when I come home from work.
Thats why we both love UDP. When we felt we need advice as to how the country should be run right now that soldiers have now truned politicians and which party can really save the country, A wise Fula man and maybe you would know he is my wife's uncle, adviced us to follow ousainou Darboe and because he is well versed in politics and been vice president for years, .Then I was already prepared to go for any opposition that can save the country and wanted advice on who amongst the canditates can best do with equality. This was years ago when bans on political parties was lifted. We have since heeded his advice and have never regretted it. We are a multi tribe and Gambian first then tribe last.Thats the Gambia we want. I honestly respect all politicians in the opposition camp
BUT I hate
NOT SHEEP IN WOLVES CLOTHING POLITICIANS!
WATCH OUT ALL GAMBIANS! A HYPOCRITE'S TONGUE IS SWEET BUT THERE IS ALWAYS SICKNESS IN HIS/HER HEART THATS DIFFUCULT TOBE NOTICED JUST BY LOOKS OR IN PUBLIC APPEARANCES. IT SITS DEEP INSIDE THEM.

Esirabeh,

I am glad to see your lines, always! Just address me as Yero as mawdo is too much load for me to handle.

Quite frankly, I hold the same view as you. To me, Nanama has just escaped the claws and teeth of that wild crocodile. Hooray!

Thanks, keep them coming...

Yero.

Mawdo Yero,
I belief it was a good thing for Mr. Keita to leave. This people are deadly and honestly speaking, though the guy who bailed him would feel let down, but the bailer should also understand the fact the all he wanted was to see justice done and his friend vindicated but lets look at it this way, what of if those threatiners meant bussiness and carried their threats and Mr. Keita is harmed or missing? God forbid would never be his intention. So am happy he has made the right decision to flee and can now tell the whole tale in a free atmosphare without fear of those mad tugs.
Thankx for bringing this to readers attention. We are now certain Mr. keita is finally safe.x
