Yes Karim. I had read the Michigan university a few years ago. In fact I think I have a copy in my library here. It was a comprehensive SCIENTIFIC study. I have also read other studies conducted by the UN agancies, The Netherlands, and I have reviewed parts of the studies conducted by China. I read these things because this is my life. There are problems and negative impacts of all dams. Including the Hoover Dam here in the US. All dams must complete feasibility studies, impact assessment studies, and remediation and resettlement studies prior to construction. Not just Kaleta dam. Only when the benefits far outweigh the cost should a dam be entertained.

Alpha Conde' is not building Kaleta dam alone. It is an OMVG inspired project. Phase 1 of 3.

President Alpha Conde' alleges, from the investigations, that the governments of Gambia and Senegal were complit in the attept on his person and property. De-minimis, they exhibited gross negligence.

The environmental impact related issues define in that document are hypothetically in question with the study conducted by Michigan University. Please read the version of that report which inter-discipline. We all share a thematic interest about related issues and so fundamental economic development in our region which have not been in the focus of political debate for years. Please be informed that International Conservation movement are critical looking into the impact and for years putting into question investment into the project. Potential studies indicate viability of having two dams and rationally economic growth and environmental management is the spirit of economic development in essence in our case is sustainable livelihood development.

Karim, I had read this several years ago and I encourage you to read it again with me.

Bear in mind this ADB effort is SUPPLEMENTAL to earlier and continuous UN efforts in cross-border hydrology. However this is ADB's point of view. ADB is a private concern (Bank) which has individual as well as national shareholders the last time I checked. Perhaps Yus is one of the shareholders. I know I am.

Here is the link. Join me while I review it again. There has been some minimal updating so perhaps there is new info that I was not privy to. I share with you that Norway and The Netherlands are also key partners of the UN in the assistance they render for hydrologic matters of developing nations.

Thank you. We can discuss some of your concerns later.

Haruna.
