The "third force", 5000-strong, (Commando Invisible) led incognito by General Ibrahim Coulibaly, had been battling Gbagbo's militia forces mainly in the Abobo townships with resounding success. They had engaged General Mangou's forces and while they had them pinned to urban warfare, the Ivory Coast Republican forces had the space and ease to retake outlying towns including the San Pedro Port city from the rebels. When the fighting came to Abidjan, the third force was able to defeat Gbagbo's militia at the prisons (one of them was Makka prison) thereby freeing the prisoners. I had translated RSF's coverage of the Makka prison fall when the prisoners thought they were dreaming to find the gates wide open but because they were'nt sure what was going on, they climed the walls out instead of plum walk through the wide open gates. Anyway, Gen Ibrahim Coulibaly was sharing what his "third force" contributed to the liberation of Ivory Coast from the Gbagbo and Goude militia, and that he expects this gallant third force to play a role in the reconstruction of Ivory Coast and in the reconstitution of the IC national army. First things first, Gen Coulibaly is orienting his men and women to join the Republican forces of Ivory Coast and support the new President Ouattara in his quest for reconciliation and reconstruction. He considers President Ouattara to be among Ivory Coast's fathers and for 10 years he had been engaged in the liberation of Ivory Coast from the clutches of a mental midget in Gbagbo.
