Certainly, it wasn't a mistake to teach Gadhafi a lesson with that uprising. Along the way though, something went wrong -picking up arms. Now that Gadhafi is regaining the parts of Libya he lost, it looks like something deadly will be seen in Libya soon. He is likely to use verses from his 'Green Book' constitution, a book he wrote with his own hands to judge his fellow citizens and possibly execute them wrongly in mass numbers to death by 'hanging.' I happen to buy your comparism agument as well.
Your fear is greatly shared though because it is there. I hope he doesn't resort to judging citizens with that mockery of a constitution called the "Green Book'. Won't that be something? May God forbid!

I have been thinking hard and comparing the Libyan uprising to the Tunisian and Egyptian successful revolution that toppled their dictators.
However, closely looking at what is happening in Libya and the West slowly turning its ears and eyes away from the Libyan situation, I think the uprising may have made some serious mistakes.
The Libyan uprising is different because it is an arm rebellion. Compared to what went on in Egypt and Tunesia it was ordinary citizens armed only with their courage and determination to toppled the government that took to the streets peacefully and demanded the removal of their dictators. Yes, so many people died in Egypt and Tunisia unfortunately, but the world couldn't turn its back on unarmed civilians being mascred. It was the center of media attention unlike Libya.
Libya seems different becasue the resistance mistakenly took up arms giving the brutal dictator a reason to defend itself and go after ordinary people resisting the dictator. As a result they couldn't convince more citizens to get to the streets.
Something deadly is happening there and am affraid it may have been all a big mistake. I hope and pray that am wrong and wish the Libyan people well.
