On my return to Germany from a wonderful celebration of the 46th Independence Anniversary in The Gambia, I wish to congratulate once more you, Your Excellency, Mr. President, your government and the wonderful people of The Gambia to this year Independence anniversary and allow me to present my respectful greetings to you and your family.

Your Excellency, please allow me to mention some words to my function, activities and the surrounding of my duties, I am serving the country, and your Government and the former Government since 1978 as one of the Honorary Consuls and since the 19th of February 2004 as your Honorary Consul General in 5 Federal States of Germany.

In this time of more than 32 (thirty-two) years as a Consul, I generated more than 20 German NGOs or other non-profit organization who are involved with social and humanitarian activities in The Gambia. I was and I am shy to present all these activities and achieved sustained success to the Gambian press or other publicities. For me is the importance that the people of The Gambia have the benefit of my bid for help.

To be successful in this field you need as well assistance of people who are working in the Embassy or in the Government and especially in ministry of Foreign Affairs, Health and Social Welfare and Tourism. Following this thought I allow me to thank in this letter my Ambassador H.E. Mamour A. Jagne, who is for my career the most efficient Ambassador we ever had. It is a pleasure for me and my colleagues in my consulate to work together and I would rather say to act in concert. I congratulate Your Excellency and as well the Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs to have appointed such an intelligent, straight lined and best organized working person as H.E. Mr. Jagne.

In generally I have to say that besides the Ambassador likewise the Minister of Foreign Affairs, with whom I had the pleasure, accompanied by H.E. the Ambassador and Mr. Mustapha S. Yarbo PS11 of your office to spend on the 10th and 11th of February to visit several important institutions and departments of the government of the Federal States of Germany. So I became testimony of the efficient domain of the Government.

I want also point out that I am working successful together with the shortly appointed Minister of Tourism and Culture, The  Hon. Mrs. Fatou Jobe Njie herself sort things out and don’t leave it only to the Gambian Tourism Authority, what me seems more prospects of success. I like as well to congratulate you to your decision to appoint Mrs. Fatima Badjie as Minister of Health and Social Welfare. As I know from longtime her father I think that the new Minister may carry out a good and successful work especially on new and modern structure of the public health sector, I wish her good luck!

Last and final I want to thank you that you found back your confidence in my very old and best friend Baboucarr Jobarteh and gave him the job he loves, fulfill and accomplish. He is for me not only a friend, he is like my brother in whom I had and have full confidence. He loves his country, H.E. the President and his job.

Your Excellency, I ask you to forgive me that I was speaking once mind and even regarding things I should not interfere in such a matter.

Your Excellency, may the Almighty Allah continue to protect you and your family and give you the strength to master and solve the great challenges of your government in a still particular difficult time, for the benefit of your country and in the interest of the entire people. Allah is with you.
