Arabs in general do not have a favorable view of Africans or their darker-skinned citizens, unless of course you're working for them or competing with them at school. They live in a time warp. The far side of this Libyan Revolution will help educate and inform the Arab. They have always understood Gaddafi to be squandering their wealth when he goes on his empire binges and because black Africans seemed to be at the other end of the empire staff, with robes to boot, the hatred for the latter is amplified. Arabs see blacks as good only for slaves. And God forbid you're black and christian or Jew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do understand your anxieties. However it is also true that Gaddafi has mercenaries from Niger (Tuaregs), Niger Delta (MEND), and Mali (Tuaregs) who are RENTED to kill off demonstrating Libyans. That is preposterous. Two wrongs do not make a right. And on this occasion where the majority of Libyan citizens do not desire Gaddafi, the black members of the Libyan military who remain loyal, are only loyal to Gaddafi and his clan. Not to Libya. I do not concur with their manner of death once captured, but I advise them to join the Freedom forces voluntarily before they're captured. Captured they will be.
Thanks for your thoughts. Racism anywhere is odious and unacceptable. However this Libyan Revolution is not to rid Libyans of racist tendencies. Trust me even if Gaddafi and his entire family resigned today, Libyans will still consider black Libyans as second class citizens, and black foreigners as third class citizens. There are tons of Pakistanis, Bangolis, Indians, Malays, Turks, Serbs, Albanians, Greeks, Italians, Latin Americans, and Scandinavians in Libya. None is more beguiled than the black man. Perhaps its time to look elsewhere for emigration.

Much is said about the bravely of the Libyan people and their struggle to put an end to dictatorship, we all support them in this effort.However,there are very dirty events happening that the world is not prepared to speak about. There is what I am now referring to as "genocide" against black Africans in that country, it is not an issue not known , but the fact is that they don’t want to talk about it. There are lot of Black African migrants in that country, when the trouble started I was able to speak to some "Illegal" Gambian migrants there, they are all worried, the last time I tried (Yesterday) I could not go through, but I was informed by some one that some of our Gambian brothers are taking refuge with the Senegalese embassy.
The deep hatred that Arabs have for Black Africans is very well known and now they have all the ammunition to lunch their attacks against poor black African migrants, calling them "Mercenaries" and the world is watching.
Take for example, Black Africans in the Libyan national army are lynched in the face of world media and it is applauded. And when Arab Libyan army personnel are captured they take them to save places and give them food and medicine and some of them are even treated as defectors. There are Black Africans in American, British etc national armies fighting wars all over the world without being referred to as "mercenaries" and thus justify their lynching when captured.
I am not sure what is the Plight of Black African Libyans at this moment, they have suffered a lot of discrimination in that country and I have my doubts if their situation is different now.
All we know now is the number of innocent Libyans who have been murdered but we are not told of the number of black Africans who have been murdered because of the color of their skin, except those that are shown in the media lynched in day light. They need some one to speak for them.

L’opposition libyenne, forte du contrôle de l’Est et de plusieurs villes de l’Ouest, se préparait à marcher sur Tripoli où le colonel Mouammar Kadhafi, sourd à la pression internationale, continuait de minimiser l’insurrection sanglante qui ébranle son régime. Au 14e jour lundi d’un mouvement de révolte sans précédent qui s’est mué en insurrection, M. Kadhafi et ses forces ne contrôlent plus que Tripoli et sa région, alors que Washington s’est dit prêt à aider les opposants qui ont créé un "Conseil national indépendant" chargé de représenter "les villes libérées".Mais alors que les appels internationaux se succèdent pour un départ de M. Kadhafi, le dernier en date venant de Londres qui lui a demandé de s’en aller "maintenant", le leader libyen est resté inflexible fustigeant les sanctions de l’ONU et assurant que la Libye était "complètement calme".Le bilan des violences restait difficile à évaluer. Le secrétaire général de l’ONU, Ban Ki-moon, a parlé d’un millier de morts. A Benghazi seule, 256 personnes ont été tuées et 2.000 blessées, selon des médecins cités par la Croix Rouge internationale. Selon un responsable de la compagnie libyenne Arabian Gulf Oil cité par le Wall Street Journal, les exportations de pétrole, interrompues depuis plusieurs jours, sont sur le point de reprendre à Tobrouk, ville de l’Est sous contrôle des insurgés.AFP.
