Bro Musa,

The joke is this –the Serers and Kabunkas will have this meeting at Ebou’s restaurant because that is where the food is. (LOL). If it is not in the pipeline already, I think you guys deserve a community center you can call a home where you can do all activities, but Ebou’s too will suffice for now.

Big up ATL guys - notably your gallant AGERA folks. AGERA came a long way, and you guys are doing a great service to both Diasporas and Gambians at home, the magnitude of which I cannot enumerate.

To me, what stands out very clear is your ability to get-together in terms of pleasure and sorrow. The African cultural revivals, educational forum of intellectuals, and soccer games on July 4th under the umbrella of AGERA are a leading record, together with the noted humanitarian contribution to both residents of ATL, and the Gambia. The noted event is unique, in its attractive bobble nature to rally together many Africans together, especially the enlightenment forum which must continue.

Even though over the years, I have seen the apolitical AGERA transform from ‘democratization’ (efforts to unite Gambia’s opposition in liaison with STGDP), to a strictly humanitarian organization, it is still very satisfactory the direction the captains of your ship are heading to.

On that note, I say ‘le garder toujours!’ I can’t wait for another July 4th. Keep sharing these releases to inspire others and their organizations.

Kind Regards,
Yero.

Father Mose, kudos to AGERA for being a force for good and to be accountable to the community. You folks keep up the good work.

As we say goodbye to 2010, AGERA would like to report back to the community, and would like to invite Gambians and Friends of the Gambia in the Atlanta metro area to a community meeting to be held at Ebou’s restaurant on Campbellton Road, on January 30, 2011, starting at 4PM.
Our goal for this meeting is to have a dialogue with all the community organizations and individuals with a view to look at how we can collaborate on the projects being undertaken by all our organizations. AGERA realizes that the better we coordinate our efforts, the better for all of us. We therefore will not only be detailing our goals for this year but will also be seeking feedback from the community.
We will also provide the financial statements detailing all the past revenues and expenditures. This is in line with our effort to engender transparency and accountability. Organizations and individuals are encouraged to ask questions and raise concerns as they deem necessary.
.
Sincerely,
