Hi Sharon,

Amen! I do agree with you.

I will be very careful about what I send.

Thanks much.

Lovingly,

Hi all,

I started writing this article this afternoon, based on yet another warning message that has apparently been circulating.  It is my response to general messages like this one:

Please take the time to look up subjects of messages such as the one about CITGO for yourself on Snopes.com, and read part, if not all of what it says. I read a lot there. Whilst I can't guarantee that Snopes always tells the truth, the fact that the sender of this message claims that this was verified on Snopes is not telling the whole truth. I'm learning that it's better to research something before sending the message, as a lot of warning bells are probably mostly false alarms, not worth passing around. If Snopes is telling the truth about people/companies, we could be actually doing some harm to them  by spreading such claims.

I made the subject line as speaking the truth in love, based on a verse in Ephesians 4:15. I'm learning that, while I believe we conservatives are right in standing up for America the way it was founded, for the right to life and morality, none of us are perfect. I wonder if maybe even we Christians tend to become arrogant about it all, just like those on the aposing sides can be about their views. I think we all need to realize that there might be some truths on both sides that we should consider, and not to say we're always right and they're always wrong. I do believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation, but I think we need to make sure we're showing it by allowing Him to work through us in notable ways, and to spread this working gospel to hurting people more than preach about politics. We, and this includes myself, need to be doing this while we can. Someday down the road, our country could try to stifle these efforts, making it more difficult for us. The Lord can turn our nation around much more effectively than just our efforts at making constitutional amendments and struggling to keep our values afloat. I agree that we need to make our voices heard in government, but I think we need to do more of preaching The Good News.

I'm also sure that we can be just as guilty about hitting the send button on gossiping messages that could do more harm than good. So I'd like to see a stop to it, unless we find for ourselves that it's authentic.
