Folks,

Below is a piece written by Mr. Ousman Darboe, former editor to the Daily Observer, alongside the disappeared journalist, Chief E. Manneh. Both Mr. Darboe and Yaya Dampha of the Foroyaa Newspaper testified at the ECOWAS courts with the help of Professor Karikari, which ended up asking the APRC administration to unconditionally render justice to Chief E.Manneh.

The rhetorical questions are not even worth asking now, but just for the heck of it: Is Jammeh and the APRC in self-denial of the whereabouts of Chief E.Manneh? After this much national and international pressure on Jammeh, won't they have released this young man if he was alive? If he is alive, and Gambian being this small, won't we have known his whereabouts?

I was hoping before year's end (December 31st 2009), the matter would have at least rested with true justice, i.e. to say, a charge for another murder on Jammeh and the APRC, or unconditionally releasing him from whereever he is being kept. Personally, I hope and pray that he is alive…and will one day come out. I ask God to shine light on his whereabouts in earnest.

To all the oppressed, I say happy new year. I wish you all absolute freedom, good health, and lives full of success. To those that can pass this message the far, I ask God to bless you abundantly and protect you from the evils of dictatorship, the evil it was created of, the seen, and unseen evils within it. Amen!

Happy New Year 2010!
