Well said Giuseppe. Now you're talking my language. Just add a bit more sobriety and get rid of gratuitous anxiety and you'll be good. Welcome back to Ellen Giuseppe.

Well said Doc. and I hope those yearning for change recognize that this is about saving a nation and not putting the interest of any one person to lead Gambia.  That would be an insult to our collective aspirations to liberation.  All and sundry must address the fundamental question - Gambia's liberation and not Joe's, Abdoulaye's, Ousainou's, Halifa's, or OJ's.  This is about liberating a nation and I hope we put our energies towards that aspiration.

Now, Gambians are not interested in Jammeh's head nor to level the landscape and I hope Jammeh recognizes that.  However, we must not be shackled by that.  At some point, if the beast refuses to vacate the pond for the villagers to fetch water, then the beast would have to be forced out against his will.  It would be a travesty for the villagers to continue to die of thirst because flushing the beast will incur casualties.  Either option will incur casualties, thus, it is about minimizing the count.  We have reached a stage that Yaya must go.  However, we also know that he intends to stay until it is too late for him.  If we get to that point and he looses his head in the process, then any reasonable person would but conclude that we did all we can to remove him peacefully.  Many had to die during slavery, colonialism, tyranny and dictatorships for Africa to be in our current position and they are still killing us.  When we got tired of coaxing our colonizers, some among us had to literally take matters in their own hands and it wasn't pretty.  For almost 60 years Africa has been coaxing dictators and bloodsuckers to release their choke on us, but to no avail.  We will not sit for another four hundred years under the Yaya Jammeh's of this world and under the sons of their sons.  No, no, and no.  This criminal has done far too much damage on us and he has every intention to continue to his natural death and that will not be allowed to happen.

Thus, Doc, I hope Yaya sees value in your wise counsel, but knowing the drunk with power, they neither see, smell, or hear the warning shot to recognize the end is near.  For with them, they expect it to be business as usual and they are owed ruler ship and will only vacate with death.

Dear All,

Below is the link to an interesting Guest Editorial by Professor Abdoulaye Saine published by the Gambia Echo. Just thought to further spread the word.
