A few years back one of my CU students proposed a thesis on failures of specific preservation projects. Halfway through the research phase she was told not to do it because it would be embarrassing to one of the faculty members who was responsible for one of the projects cited. She told them to put it where the lift don't reach, and left the program. Ouch.
