Jabou, Laye, you can learn a lot from Rene's approach to peddling PDOISm. Rene asserts that even if you Take the occult out of PDOIS/Halifa, you will end up with a formidable residual platform and ideas that are still inspirational. The difficulty will be the extraction of Occult from cult. I do think however that Rene in onto something. He just didn't want to come out and tell you to quit the idiocy and gaucherie and focus on PDOIS' message instead of running after phantoms of tribalism and other gratuitous labels. I noticed that the tribalism label is the PDOISard's hail Mary and they are oblivious to the fact that they are themselves the vrai tribalists.

What you must consider before you label your fellow citizen tribalist is that at the end of the day, two tribalists cannot progress anywhere in the world. They will be mired in incessant conflict each with good enough reason to label the other tribalist. Tribalism is the only demarche that is an equal opportunity afflictor. Anyone can be tribalist at any point in their life and for any ambition, especially the unfulfilled idiot. Slavery was propagated by an ample dose of tribalism. I want you to reconnoitre right because you cannot take "labelling your fellow citizen tribalist" out of Yahya's arsenal and you will participate in PDOIS' long hiatus unawares or awares as the case may be. The profuse pretense in PDOIS notwithstanding.

What you should be focused on is how you can work with a tribalist at any point in his/her  ;tribal life if you share common citizenship. WHen you cannot work together, then you must prosecute your differences at war a la Sarajevo, Srebrenitza, Soweto, Hercegovina, Tamil, Miyanmar, Zimbabwe, SierraLeone, Biafra, Bissau, La Guinea, Bretagne, Mauritania, Senegal, Mali, Ireland, Somalia, COngo, Burundi, Uganga, Rwanda, Ivory Coast, China, Australia, etcetera. One thing you will notice is that the tribalist is the first one to cry tribalist. The ogre is so indeterminate that you can sneeze and be tribalist.

One advice I have for you Jabou is that there is no winner in tribal fracas and there is nothing to win or lose. It is the most diffuse and ineffectual war you can ever fight. And you will still have equal distribution of tribalism when you're done prosecuting the war. You don't believe me do you????

Haruna.

Aunty Jabou,
Just imagine; PDOIS supposedly has no strong following, but has managed  to be in the public consciousness and the political debate for more than two decades. And there are no signs that this enthusiasm and commitment will abate soon. One of the reasons why this has been the case,20is the fact that first and foremost, PDOIS has a political argument to make; and secondly, it has been able to articulate that argument clearly and conceptually.

If we move away from personalities, and the individual who make most of the arguments on behalf  of PDOIS, Halifa Sallah, and look at PDOIS from the standpoint of its political, social, cultural and economic positions,  we will then begin to appreciate the huge contributions in our national political debate that the party has been able to make, in the  quest for a political alternative or solution from the first republic to the second republic.

The first thing that everyone should note is that PDOIS has an agenda. It has its aims and objectives. It has principles that guide the conduct and affairs of its members and activities. It has an agenda based on programs that it would implement whenever it succeeds to take over the reigns of government. It has a programs based agenda.

PDOIS's agenda, aims and objectives, and the principles that guide the conduct of its members and activities, have been stipulated variously in their myriad of publications over the years. It is my hope that those who want to state  a different position will take issue with their agenda; or their aims and objectives and in so doing, give impetus to the evolution of a political thought process that can help to shape the discourse on politics. This will also make the awakening of our political consciousness more appreciable.

I cannot wait to learn more from the different postulations; different ideas and conceptions. This is the kind of political discourse I am yearning for.

            Rene
