http://peazip.sourceforge.net/ Its free.

Also, XP has a built in very basic zipper/unzipper.

Hard to beat WinZip, however. You can page through full-size jpg files, rename files within the archive, use 256bit AES Encryption, etc. - many great features.

Subject: [PCSOFT] A good substitute for WinZip?

As many of you already know, my hard drive crashed late last December,
and I was more than 30 days getting my computer back with a new HD.
Previously, I ran Win XP SP2 on a 100-gig drive; now it seems I have SP
1 and certain software "trial versions" are "expiring!" I still can't
view videos on this computer, and now all of a sudden it seems I have to
_buy_ a copy of WinZip in order to open that Mail Viewer from Mitec?! I
don't _think_ so...

So, what would you folks recommend as a good, free, easier-to-use
substitute for WinZip? Thanks in advance!
