Thanks, Hugh.  I downloaded that and ran it.  It found two "adware" things 
which I had it remove, but it did not find the virtumonde.dll problem.  It 
wanted to restart the system, so I did - and now Spybot is running again (I 
didn't tell it to) and it seems to be thinking that that there is still a 
problem.  I've never seen Spybot start on its own like this.

I don't know if Spybot has gone crazy, or if I have a problem that won't go 
away.  I've disconnected that computer from the internet just in case, 
because apparently this nasty thing can steal passwords and information.

Any other ideas?  I'm not very techy, but I can handle simple things.
