Kukeh,

I tend to lean toward Suntou forwarding notes from Mathew and anyone else. Also I appreciate Pasamba and any one else to challenge such notes. I do honour and appreciate you for advising sobriety in as much as the exchanges go. Perhaps the need to have Suntou forward his notes here would encourage Mathew to subscribe if only as an intermittent contributor.

When challenged, Mathew can peruse the archives or I encourage Suntou to forward any challenges to him so he can respond in good time if he wished. This will help keep Ellen lively and dynamic. And you will not be accused of restricting comment.

It may be extremely difficult to change personalities and their entertainment values. And it may take away from your valuable time trained toward commoner good. As long as the subscriber or contributor is of adult age and sound mind, the onus ought to be on them to act with propriety and a modicum of sobriety. No one needs a subscription to access the archives and anyone can subscribe or be sponsored to join us should they wish. In fact I will encourage active participants to alert inactive (archive-rover) participants whenever a challenge is directed their way that did not issue from any comment he/she made here. This will afford the maligned an opportunity to defend themselves. I say only deceased persons and minors ought not be challenged here. Even that is only a wish of mine. I may not be able to affect others' compass.

Anyway Kukeh, I appreciate your guardianship and wisdom. That is why I don't want you to overwhelm yourself for nought.
Haruna.

Dr Jaiteh, just for this topic allow Mathew to respond to any question directed at him. After this, i reserve the right to forward writings i find appealing. of course, Mathew like Halifa have been around in Gambian journalistic circles for a long time and they all deserve our attention. This doesn't mean, accepting what they say or following them, it only means giving others a chance to have their say. I thank you Dr Jaiteh for the diplomatic way you handle sensitive issues here. As an elder, i say balalma for making you over watchful on material emanating from my angle. But i have done the best to be respectful and polite. On issues of national interest, it is unwise to be a tiger without claws, just puffing. I respect bailo and will continue to do so. We share something more important than party political differences.

Pasamba,
I believe we are giving this thread undeserved attention. In addition
Mathew is not a member of the L to respond to any queries. I am
confident that Suntou recognize folly in forwarding it in the first
place and would recall it if he could. This is one of those rare moments
MUNYAL/ SABARR is called for.
