Twy,
I found a new copy, for considerable less than any used. http://www.alibris.com/booksearch.detail?BID=9636926963&pwork=5163609&pisbn=9781873394304&siteID=5Nv03vHgBCI-HFdefZE4PxcMMSU5Y4BcaQ
Does this look like the book to which you refer?

Leland,
If it's a really good friend, check Abebooks and see if you can find Plastering
Plain and Decorative, by William Millar (3rd edition was published in
1905)
It's phenomenal.

I am looking for a gift for a friend/plasterer. Any
suggestions on books about stucco, or great stucco projects?
Best,
Leland

I would suggest a wet chemical analysis by a knowledgeable
conservation lab. I know several here in NYC. I would assume a typical 1-2 week
turn around and maybe faster if we asked real nice.
