Hey Twybil, my friends down here, we already determined it’s a Texas problem, not enough hunters to thin out the winter migration, so too many geese are heading north early.

BTW, this shows what a good F-4 pilot can STILL do.

Great, while we're sitting around yacking about "airplane performance" Al Qaida is releasing its phalanxes of suicide geese to decimate our already faltering airline industry, pushing us further toward the brink of anarchy and testing both the outgoing commander in cheif who has been trying to get some down time for the past eight years in Washington, and that new untested one who has, sadly, neither Vietnam nor goose hunting experience. Clearly they had the support of Canadian operatives. Are we all going to just sit here and take it, or move to eliminate the GMDs?

Inquiring Twybils want to know

That sounds familiar but I thought I remember one that was taking off and just fell off the runway…also wintertime.

Wasn’t one of those where the cockpit snapped off the plane, into the water?

For several years, I’ve had a vague recollection of US Air having one rough year in the 1980’s where planes kept falling off the runway into Flushing Bay.  May have only happened once and my memory is exaggerating.  Anyone remember this?

I don't see any floating seat cushions. Hmmm...

A close associate of ours, John Harry, also had a recent air transportation mishap. Nose wheel failed to deploy while trying to land at Philadelphia International. Fuel dumped, runway foamed, all survived.

Common thread: U S Airways

Makes you think twice about flying bankrupt airlines. I stopped flying United several years ago during their great bankruptcy period. I had 5 flights in a row cancelled for mechanical problems.
