We used to use duplex nails but they tend to beat up the 2x6 brace stock and they are prone to causing that stomach dropping feeling when the hammer claw slips off 16 feet in the air. The Strongdrives go in and out over and over and over without wearing out and they're even excellent for extracting blind pegs. Just screw them in and apply crowbar.
