Alj. DK Jawara

With his white dented teeth
and a blazing full beam's smile
accompanied with a powerful voice
a humble giant walked gently
with ever his handsome glasses
resembling L. Senghore of Dakarunjie
ruling for peace, love and harmony
for thirty dry years.

A-Alhaji (guest to the great baitul Kabah)
D-Dawda (namesake to Dawud Al-islam)
K-Kairaba (Peace)
J-Jawara (the name of that clan to Almamy)

Loved and cherished by all
for his peaceful nature (just that Dove)
and politics of jokes.

DK, though your farms were attacked
by the pariah rebels
but your plants will not wilt ever
at least not in the midst of many.

DK, for the part you erred
'corruption & mismanagement' they said
which your critics hold against you
i hope you one day ask
for that forgiveness.

Note: I was never a PPP, but going by our political history, DK was our
first president. Despite what his critics may hold against him "Corruption
and mismanagement", Sir Dawda is still a powerful fellow who commands a lot
of respect. Probably, the last stroke that broke the camel's back was when
he went home to settle, dining with the man (Jammeh) we all fear. That to
many is a complete turn-off. If his critics will permit me, I think it will
be an insult to compare DK with Jammeh. While Sir Dawda's administration is
widely attacked for "corruption and mismanagement, Jammeh's human rights
records will live longer in history.

In conclusion, let us give it to the old man.
