Butch,

Just curious as to why you needed a converter box with the new TV? Or, was
that for an older set?

Subject: hd tv and converter box

Well, I don't know if any one else on this list is interested, but we did
get a new tv and a converter box for the coming hd. We got a Magnavox 42
lcd and it is easy to select the inputs or channels from the remote.

As far as the converter box, I bought a zenith at circuit city, using a
coupon. I'm impressed with the box, works well on rabbit ears, has s a p
button on the remote, and has a signal button that gives a visual
indication as well as a pulsing tone. Down side is you'll need sighted
help to do the initial install as a menu comes up and you have to tell it
to search out hd channels. It has audio and video out, antenna and to tv
jacks. If you turn the box off, it passes analog signals. $60, so with
the $40 coupon, cost me $20.
