Well, I thought to search the archives for Icon Default since February and found it.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\DefaultIcon
There may be other similar entries under Local Machine and Current User, 
depending on your setup.

I assume you're familiar with registry editing.

and it is set correctly,     D:\ICONS\1.ico,1       but it stopped working.   Any thoughts?    --Anna Summers
