Starting November 01, 2007, all hams sold in retail and franchise are gluten free. Because we produced catalog hams much early, some of catalog hams sitting in the freezer still with gluten. Therefore, we feel safe not to change the website. -----Original Message----- From: Michele Rice [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Tuesday, November 13, 2007 2:27 PM To: Catalog Service; Bunker, Rae Cc: Michele Rice Subject: Gluten Free status of your Glaze? Hello, please forward this request to the appropriate supervisor. Your email address was the only one I could find for a contact. There is much controversy among the celiac community as to ingredients of your Honey Baked Ham Glaze. I called your offices yesterday and the the customer service rep told me that the glaze is now gluten free. She said the recipe was changed this summer due to customer demand. Other people have called with the same question, and they have been told the glaze is NOT gluten free. Your labels, web site and FAQ all state that there is wheat in the glaze. People with celiac disease cannot eat anything with wheat, rye or barley ingredients, even in minute amounts. The gluten free status of your products has been discussed often on two large celiac internet groups. I would like a statement from a company representative that informs us of the ingredients of the ham and turkey glaze and an explanation of why different people are getting different information. Is the product offered by mail the exact same product sold in your stores?
