Arizona Industries for the Blind Rehabilitation Services Unit Opening Date: June 25, 2007 Closing Date: Open Until Filled JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Title: Assistive Technology Inventory Specialist (Uncovered) Description: Manages an Assistive Technology inventory for RSA clients and provides related reports. Prepares feature descriptions and informative material related to devices in the Assistive Technology inventory. Installs and oversees the installation of access equipment on an as needed basis. Serves as a resource to Rehabilitation Services Administration regarding technology for the blind and visually impaired and other disabilities. Example of Duties: 1. Manages an Assistive Technology inventory to include requesting necessary equipment, receiving, distributing and accounting for items provided to RSA clients. 2. Installs software and configure access technology as a back up service in the absence of community or other at providers. 3. Catalogs descriptive features and ordering details of Assistive Technology devices. 4. Serve as a consultant to employers, counselors, administration & other RSA staff. 5. Perform basic in-service training to RSA clients and staff on an ongoing basis. 6. As time permits, assists with evaluations at client's home and/or jobsite to determine access technology needs. 7. Other duties assigned by supervisor. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 1. Excellent knowledge of access technology. 2. General knowledge of computers, computer software. 3. Excellent knowledge of accessible database management with skills to query and generate reports. 4. Ability to install software, determine compatibility and configure access technology. 5. Skill in both oral and written communications. 6. Ability to travel statewide to serve clients who are blind/visually impaired or have other disabilities. 7. Ability to lift computers up to 75 lbs. and transport them to various locations. 8. Ability to communicate with a variety of individuals in a positive constructive manner while remaining customer focused. 9. Ability to install assistive technology and general IT products including modems, CD-ROM, sound cards, etc. on computers using various operating systems on an as needed basis. 10. Ability to generate accurate and timely reports for VR Counselors detailing all findings and recommendations. All inventories and reports are to be generated as per specification. 11. Ability to supervise if required. Minimum Preferred Qualifications: Two years experience in access technology or computer related activities. Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of access technology.
