Making Checking for Accessibility of Your Web Pages Easy!
Free Webinar: Demo of Accessibility Verifier Extension for Explorer
April 24 at 2 PM Eastern
Presenter Dick Banks

Most of the major Web accessibility checkers output a complex report covering all of the WAI Guidelines or the Section 508 standards

depending on which is specified. Wading through the report can be complicated and frequently requires the user to have a hard copy

of the report in one hand while having the browser open to the relevant Web site at the same time. This can be especially cumbersome

when the person only needs to check one or two items.

In contrast, the accessibility extension for Internet Explorer interacts in real time with the site to be evaluated. The user can specify one

item at a time and get an interactive visual picture of the good, the bad and the ugly all in real time. This can be good for anyone

checking for accessibility, but it is very useful for a Web page designer with limited coding skill and experience.

The tool can check for all the guidelines and standards including:
• alternative text for images
• row and column headers for tables
• properly tagged forms
• colour contrast

This hour-long presentation will demonstrate many of these features. You need to register to attend to be sure you have a seat in the

virtual room saved for you. You should also go online in advance and obtain the toolbar extension for your computer.
