W98 is a real pain when making changes. If your drive does not show up...do you hear it spinning? If so try re-installing. W98 likes to have the disks so be prepared with the cd rom disk and the W98 disk. -----Original Message----- From: PCSOFT - Personal Computer software discussion list [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of marilyn tellez Sent: Friday, January 26, 2007 3:11 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: [PCSOFT] My last question/s before I take this cpu to the closest quack doc. Here's where I am with this pc. I have numerous e-mails I can't delete, but have to go to end/task & return to the email list. I want to read graphics from a cd I bought from Dover publications. CD is in the drive, but there is no installation icon to see the images. (Drive does not react) Finally, I have tried several times to get these errors fixed, but I am at the end of my knowledge & patience. What should I do next? And, if I go to the "computer shop" for repairs, what should I ask them to do & look for? Would it not be better to just upgrade to WXP or 2000 & get out of W98 that has turned me sour? Thanks for any ideas & suggestions. (The advice & suggestions from you all have been great). Marilyn J.
