You should be able to copy all directories from the CD to a directory on 
your HD, and then install as you said from that directory.  I do this with 
MS Office so that if it needs files/converters/etc later, I don't need to 
re-insert the CD.  HTH

I want to load Encarta on a computer that has no CDROM. Is there a way I can 
copy all the files to the HD then install it so it doesn't call for the CD? 
I can initially load it from an external CD drive, then want it to run
