Stevie Ray, lots, and lots of Stevie Ray..............., dig up some old Little Feat stuff, Zappa's acoustical stuff, the only real Zappa, add to the blues with Snooky Pryor, Mel Brown, Taj Mahal, Lonnie Mack (yes he's still alive). I can bring "samples" the end of the month. The Other Brother -----Original Message----- From: His reply: "No. Have you read The Lazy Teenager by Virtual Reality?" So, in the lounge of the Port Jeff to Bridgeport ferry across the LI sound this AM on my way to Ossining I read this: "The smell of wet hair and coats mixed with smoke and beer formed a gas that no one would have been able to stand for more than a minute at home; amid the screaming and laughter Max and Ada need have no fear that they were being evesdropped on." I simply had to stop reading and sit there and enjoy the essence of this sentence for at least the next fifteen minutes. Slow readers are those who take delight in the subtle details of life. The project in Ossining that we had been working on since the summer, that I had been working on since last winter, we had our final inspection today and there was no punch list. I like that. It is so rare to have a job that is well done. I'm pretty much a hack at most things but when I can bring a team together to bring out the best of everyone I feel good. When it does not happen I feel bad. Putting that aside... my hard drive w/ multi-gigs of music collected over the years a month-or-so ago went bonkers. I have quotes of $800 to $2,000 to recover the data. It occurs to me that I can go a long ways w/ $800 to purchase a new stable of music. So... I ask of all of you to please tell me what music you would recomend for me to listen.
