The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra will share the stage with Wisconsin's brightest young musical stars at the Pabst Theater during the 38th annual Stars of Tomorrow concert on Thursday, May 4. This unique concert experience brings two elements to the performance; one is a competition amongst three featured high school soloists who will perform their concertos with the MSO during the full-length concert, and the other will include members of the MSO performing side-by-side with 34 high school student finalists and honorable mentions of the statewide competition. Participants hail from Green Bay, Madison, LaCrosse, Cedarburg, Greenfield, Shorewood, and many other cities.

Each of the featured soloists have already won a $1,000 Laura Dresselhuys Scholarship Award and will be vying on May 4 for one Harry John Brown Award of $500 to be presented to the winner of the competition which will be judged by members of the MSO and Andreas Delfs.  This year's soloists include:
The Young Artist Auditions, which is used to select contestants for the Stars of Tomorrow competition, are designed for Wisconsin high school students in grades 9-12. This year, over 75 string, woodwind, brass, and percussion students participated in the preliminary competition in Wauwatosa. Judges included MSO musicians who volunteered their time and talent. Winners receive scholarship money and the opportunity to perform with the Wisconsin's only professional orchestra and largest cultural organization -- the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.

The event, formerly known as the "Young Artist Concert," is run by the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra League and raises money for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's education programs.
